The civil rights movement took place in the 1960’s which was taking a stand against segregation and racism towards black, “separate but equal in actuality biased. Police brutality and discrimination from political figures wasn’t the only thing that the African Americans had to face along with riding buses for freedom and breaking barriers in the segregated education system. TV had a big role in the civil rights movement to really be a movement because newspapers couldn’t give the viewers the visual stimulation that was needed in the nation that TV was able to do and bring forth what was really going on. It showed and exposed the injustice the racism that students, middle age men and women had to face.
